CyberWatcher was established as one of the pioneers within web news intelligence in 1999.
Founder and current CEO, Morten Rynning, developed a unique web crawler and spider technology specializing on services for online market monitoring and news filtering.
Today this has turned into a global leading infrastructure of indexed web news covering more than 40 000 online sources in 180 countries including more than 50 languages.
CyberWatcher has received several awards for its technology:
||Awarded by Bill Gates (Microsoft) for being one of the global pioneers within .Net development
||The European Seal of e-Excellence prize for innovating services
||The best "Data Product" from PCWorld via the sister company IntelliSearch
||The European Gold Seal of e-Excellence for its Risk Management platform with Company News Directory
||CyberWatcher was acquired by Solid Media Group, a provider of solutions for marketing, publishing and monitoring within digital- and social media.
In 2004, CyberWatcher established a spin-off company that was to focus on corporate search - IntelliSearch. Today this is a privately listed company.
CyberWatcher was acquired in 2005 by a consortium of newspaper publishers. In addition, the global #1 cutting agency acquired the CyberWatcher technology platform.
However, CyberWatcher ventured into development of a new global search engine and a new monitoring platform - aiming at assisting other agencies and intelligence experts.
Based upon this strategy, CyberWatcher established Updatum in Scandinavia and acquired a small UK based agency to become Updatum Ltd.
This constituted the beginning of what was to become the first Pan-European partner network of monitoring experts which now includes experts and service providers in 15 countries throughout Europe.
In 2010, CyberWatcher launched its Risk Management service based upon news indicators. For this service CyberWatcher was awarded the European Gold Seal of e-Excellence.
